Dog Leash For Bike Riding

I have a german shepard mix along with a toy poodle who i think both are in want of beneficial physical excersise. they both come to the stables with me each day and get to have a run around for at least an hour but on days where i dont go riding or i am ill i would like them to be able to still get some excersise. my fiance loves to ride his bike and i think it would be very good for him as well as the dog. having said that we are both a bit lost to how you can teach a dog tips on how to run next to the bike. does anybody know how or has a video i can watch on-line that shows us? my biggest fear is that the dog runs to the side and pulls me or my fiance off or runs infront of the bike. please advise. thanks!
